Asparagus Royalty

Each year, the National Asparagus Festival crowns the only Asparagus Queen in the country. The Asparagus Queen travels the state of Michigan promoting the asparagus industry of Oceana County, and encouraging Michiganders to support our local agriculture industry. All of the exposure and support goes back to the farmers who produce this wonderful vegetable we're known for.

Shelby is the eighth recipient of a $1,000 scholarship to be used for further education, or a charitable donation to a local non-profit organization. A very special thank-you to the sponsors and pageant attendees for their generous contributions to continue to support this fund.

Shelby enjoys remodeling and decorating her fixer upper house with the help of her husband of 38 years. They have three children and four grandchildren together. Shelby was a former resident of Oceana County before moving to the east coast and now resides in beautiful Fremont, Michigan. She loves spending time with her family, Belly Dancing, and Camping in the great outdoors.

Haley Walsworth

Haley Walsworth grew up in Hart, Michigan, on her family’s asparagus farm, Golden Stock Farms.She attended Hart High School and went on to attend Cornerstone University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Film Production. Raised in a hardworking agricultural environment, she developed a deep appreciation for community and the value of hard work. Haley has a passion for digital storytelling, video production and creating meaningful content.
